Tips for Throwing a Successful Pool Party This Summer

Summer is a time for barbecues, campouts, road trips, and most of all, pool parties. If you have a swimming pool in your backyard, odds are that your friends and neighbors are anxiously awaiting an invitation to your pool party. To throw a pool party that everyone will enjoy, follow these tips.

Prep Your Pool

The first thing you need to do is make sure that your pool is in proper order. You should check your pool’s pump system and chemical levels at least a week before your planned party to ensure you have time to address any issues. If your chlorine levels are low, you’ll need to “shock” the system, and this means no one can swim for a couple days, which would really put a damper on the pool party.

Make sure your pool is clean too. Nobody wants to swim in a dirty pool.

Good Food

Pool parties are best when they’re coupled with good food. You can do a barbecue, or just have some tasty snacks and drinks for your guests to enjoy. If you don’t want to take on the full burden of feeding everyone, make it a potluck and have everyone contribute something for the party.

Pool Safety

Nothing can ruin a pool party as quickly as someone getting hurt. Make sure your guests understand basic pool safety, and don’t be afraid to enforce those rules. A few guests may not like being told not to run around the pool, but in the end, it’ll keep any accidents from ruining the party.
